foolmenot.comFrom a point approximately 40 years ago, there has been a most dramatic change in our culture; some of which a matter of evolution brought on by resolution of opposing points of view, and that is fine. There is a segment of change however, that has been thrust upon our culture via political expediency- that is, politicians pandering to voting segments to gain power and influence and politicians indulging other politicians in order to preserve their own power and influence. Culture is comprised of values that individuals hold dear. In most aspects of our daily lives we have experienced a thrust towards what is popularly referred to on a right-to-left spectrum, as the Far Left.
From strict censorship in movies and TV, to seemingly one step away from a total "no" reference to limits at all.
From holding individuals acutely responsible for their actions to allowing the use of the word "mistake" to be the sole atonement for some of the worst behavior imaginable.
From absolutely no tolerance for ending a pregnancy to facilitating a baby's head to emerge from the womb so it's brains can be sucked out.
From a few teenage girls getting themselves pregnant and having to quietly quit high school and marry the guy that impregnated her, to multitudes of teenage girls getting themselves pregnant so they can get taxpayers to buy them an apartment, food, and clothing- (marriage is only [not] in this picture, the sperm donor is most often not readily identifiable).
From getting an education in a secondary school and college that expected us to spell a word and know how to count change correctly, to an educational system that gives passing grades for just showing up.
From a male not hearing a female say the word "shit" until she was 16 to teens giving oral sex on a school bus.
From "what can I do for my country" to "what can my country do for me".
All this and more I have witnessed. For me, it has been a ride too far in one direction. I have no doubt society will one day determine the ride to the left needs to slow down; possibly turn around. I know this will happen, because that is the way of things... In some regard, I can see that happening now.
On this site I talk about, and refer to subjects that interest me; sometimes philosophical, but mostly politically oriented. There are news articles, links to news articles, and my comments on the news. What I do on this site is my best effort to slow this cultural ride to the left down a bit.
